FAQs

1. Do I need insurance to receive care?

No. You do not need insurance to receive care at Doctors United Group (DUG). We are committed to making quality healthcare accessible to everyone by offering affordable medical services for both insured and uninsured patients. Our team can also help you understand available payment options and connect you with programs that may reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

2. Is HIV testing confidential?

Yes. Your privacy is our priority. All HIV testing services at Doctors United Group are completely confidential and performed in a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment. Our experienced healthcare professionals follow strict privacy standards to ensure your personal and medical information remains protected throughout the testing process.

3. How quickly will I receive my results?

The time it takes to receive your results depends on the type of test performed. Rapid HIV testing may provide results in as little as 20 minutes, while laboratory-based HIV and STD tests typically take a few business days. Your healthcare provider will explain the testing process and let you know when you can expect your results.

4. What is PrEP?

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a daily prescription medication that helps prevent HIV before exposure. When taken consistently as directed, PrEP is highly effective at reducing the risk of HIV infection. Our providers offer PrEP consultations, testing, ongoing monitoring, and personalized support to help determine if PrEP is the right prevention option for you.

5. What is PEP?

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is an emergency medication that may help prevent HIV infection after a possible exposure. PEP must be started within 72 hours of exposure and taken for 28 days to be most effective. If you believe you’ve been exposed to HIV, contact Doctors United Group immediately to receive timely evaluation and care.

6. Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes. Many of our clinic locations welcome walk-in patients for select healthcare services, including HIV testing, STD testing, and other medical needs. However, appointment availability may vary by location. Scheduling an appointment in advance is recommended to reduce wait times and ensure prompt service.

7. Can I schedule telehealth appointments?

Yes. Doctors United Group offers convenient telehealth appointments for many healthcare services, allowing eligible patients to consult with licensed medical providers from the comfort of their home. Telehealth is available for select primary care, follow-up visits, medication management, and other non-emergency healthcare needs.

8. Which Florida locations do you serve?

Doctors United Group proudly serves communities across Florida through multiple clinic locations, including Miami, Hialeah, Orlando, Dania Beach, Tallahassee, Milton, and Miami Springs. We also offer telehealth services to eligible patients throughout Florida, making quality healthcare more accessible wherever you are.

9. Do you provide primary care?

Yes. We offer comprehensive primary care services for individuals and families, including annual wellness exams, preventive care, chronic disease management, routine health screenings, vaccinations, medication management, and ongoing healthcare support. Our goal is to help patients maintain long-term health through compassionate, patient-centered care.

10. How can I book an appointment?

Booking an appointment is easy. You can schedule your visit by calling your nearest Doctors United Group clinic, using our online appointment request form, or contacting us through our website. Our friendly team will help you find a convenient appointment time and answer any questions you may have before your visit.
